Our Vision

The Health Foundation for the Americas (HFA) is the support organization for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. The National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance) is the source for everything related to Hispanic health. During the past 37 years the Alliance has developed a wealth of human and social capital that created some of the innovative programs that are commonly found today. To insure its future ability to serve the nation, the Alliance must develop its financial capital so that it can be independent of government funding and continue its work on behalf of Hispanics and all persons throughout the Americas. Some of the areas that demand further attention include:

» Factors that contribute to the longevity of Hispanics.
» How Hispanics manage chronic disease.
» Special needs of older persons.
» Saving money and improving quality of care.
» Health across borders.

The resources of the HFA will be used to meet its mission to improve the health and well-being of Hispanics throughout the Americas. These funds will be used to be proactive in the key areas above. Specifically, there will be a program fund for special issues, opportunities or emergencies, and endowment for stability and permanence.
