What We Do
We turn scientific breakthroughs into better health for everyone.
We connect research, healthcare, and communities so that discovery doesn’t stop at the lab; it moves faster to reach the people who need it most. We work to:
1
Advance research & policy
We drive the science, services, and policies that improve health for all, at a national scale.
2
Deliver real benefits
We translate scientific discovery into practical solutions that improve real lives, not just journals.
3
Unite care & community
We bring research, community services, and medical practice together so care meets people where they are.
Trusted Since 1973
Over five decades of showing up for our communities.
We began in Los Angeles as the Coalition of Spanish-Speaking Mental Health Organizations (COSSMHO), founded to answer an urgent need for better mental health care. As our communities grew and changed, so did we.
Today, we are the nation’s premier science-based, community-driven organization dedicated to achieving the best health for all.

Our integrity is non-negotiable.
We accept no funding from tobacco, alcohol, or soda companies. We do not accept funds from those who compromise your health.
In the Room Where It Happens
A science-based voice where decisions get made.
For over 50 years, we've carried the best science and the real experience of communities into the rooms where national health decisions are made — and carried what we learn back home.

Why It Matters
The health of Hispanic families is the health of the country.
Nearly one in four children in the United States is Hispanic. They are the country's future workforce, its families, its neighbors. When they're healthy, the United States is stronger. Investing with us is not charity for a few it's an investment for all of us.

✓ Care tailored to the individual, never the average.
✓ People equipped with the knowledge and tools to own their health.
✓ Body and mind, treated as one.
✓ National partnerships tied to global health progress.
✓ Communities ready the moment an emergency strikes.
Our Vision
Communities that thrive.
We see communities whose contributions are recognized, valued, and celebrated — where every person has a real opportunity to be healthy, well, and prosperous.
